I've read several websites on this type of stuff. As a business man who deals with competitors, sites like this and a few others really sound like competitors trying to trash a brand's name. I mean come on with the sensationalism? I can make low carb bread too with coconut flour and egg whites, it's not like it's impossible.. And the whole paleo wrap controversy? Do you know how many brands make regular wraps? As if one company can monopolize and control a type of wrap? lol? I'll buy whatever is cheapest and has the best ingredients. I could careless about you running julian bakery from the back of your pickup with chains

Thank you for your words of encouragement and yes it is true Heath Squier did sue me for defamation. The suit was filed October 18th 2013 and then Heath abruptly dismissed his own suit on December 12th, 2013 and you may read what I wrote in response here-on the second post down https://low-carb-scams.com/julian-bakery-lawsuit-dismissal/
And I can guarantee you one thing, Heath Squier has never heard of Ludwig von Mises let alone read anything he has written or what he stands for.
THIS IS WHAT AMAZON SAYS: “Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings at Amazon.com. Read honest and unbiased product reviews from our users”.
You say you came here via an Amazon Review? Well how about this? Not only did Heath Squier have all my Comments on some of the Reviews deleted, he had the actual Reviews deleted as well. The Reviews by 3 princesses mommy? have all been deleted and on one she had 16 Comments from various people and those too were deleted. So why in heavens name would you ever believe that the Amazon Reviews are not skewed? Heath gets the Reviews removed and up goes his star ratings. Such a deal.
Why don’t you try this. Go to any of his many Facebook pages or website pages and try to write anything negative. I would bet it will be deleted very soon if not immediately. Hundreds and hundreds of people have had it happen to them. Take a good look and see if you can find one negative thing anywhere. Heath even manages to have some of the negative Yelp reviews removed.
Again thank you.

P.S. If someone wants to compare Mother Teresa to Judas Iscariot, that is totally within their rights of free speech. And feel just as free to explain at length and in great detail the many ways that comparison is inapt. In other words: Grow some gonads! (The non-gender-specific way to say that. ;-))

Dear Deborah,

Were you actually sued for defamation and slander by this company as I read on another web page? I loathe witnessing that kind of treatment of people, much less from business owners, who have a commitment to serve their customers (and *not* with legal orders that come with the embedded threat of a gun!). Take a note from Amazon's playbook (where I actually found the products I recently bought which are still sitting in my pantry and the comment that led me here) re: customer service. I have never, but never had a problem with Amazon's customer service (and I've had my share of DIY-furniture that came broken, purchases from marketplace sellers who didn't quite describe their products accurately [books, mostly], or just weirdly missing shipments).

I can't believe a company would be so petty, mean-spirited, and just plain in the moral wrong. People have a right to say their piece, even if they're mistaken. No one believes without questioning everything they hear, and the meritoriousness of the claims should be left to each to determine. Stifling speech—censorship—is abhorrent in a free society. It is through absolutely open discourse that the politeness of civilized society is attained: censorship creates unnecessary taboos and areas of darkness in which evil thrives whereas openness and the opportunity for voluntary trade creates a willingness to "get along." The stick method of convincing others is sooooo seven centuries ago.

If a company is so sure that claims are false, then why bully and
use violence to decry those claims (the entire undercurrent of defamation suits is "shut up or go
to jail at the point of a gun")? The truth of the company's response would and should be
enough. Or maybe it bespeaks such a condescension of potential customers
to think that they would unthinkingly believe any lie that came to
them. Bullying with the threat of violence, or contempt and
condescension. Neither is good.

The patent issue, for me, is not a compelling reason to cease my purchasing this company's products. I do not believe in a right to ownership of ideas. The long history of simultaneous math and scientific discoveries by persons not in contact and continents apart (before the Information Age) is a testament to that human discovery and idea creation is not an area in which rational property interests can be made. (The nature of the modern-day ethically-concerned company, however, is to employ patent protections defensively.) I *do* believe in property rights, however (no one should be able to break into your company to steal your secrets), and in voluntary contracts (i.e., with employees, ensuring reticence on matters of company secrets). See the book 'Against Intellectual Property,' here: http://mises.org/books/against.pdf

The bullying utilizing state power is a *much* more compelling reason for me to stop buying Julian Bakery products. I don't accept that in my private relationships and I certainly have less interest in supporting that kind of behavior in professional companies. And I know it will be to a handful of chef friends who believe similarly, and a couple thousand of my Facebook acquaintances: Even the ones who disagree with my political views are agreed that this kind of behavior is unacceptable in civilized society.

At any rate, I sincerely hope you are doing very well, Deborah. I came here because of the Amazon comment, but your website is inspiring, too. I think I'll go make a cup of green tea to relax a bit and try to refocus on healing like you have shown, here. :-)

Signed,

The Pure Wraps are now available again. The government never shut them down instead the Pure Wraps stopped using a manufacturer who was not complying with the Pure Wraps strict standards. Not only do the Pure Wraps have higher manufacturing standards they are also less expensive. So go buy them to your hearts content.

Deborah & Todd,

I know Heath Squier, and I am not surprised to learn that he is misrepresenting his products, nor that he is defrauding his customers. Heath used to date a porn star named Angel Cassidy, and he performed in two adult films with her under the stage name "JJ Ryder" and you can view these two credits at: http://www.iafd.com/person.rme/perfid=jjryder/gender=m/jj-ryder.htm

He may also have performed in more adult movies under a different stage name. Yep, that's right… Heath Squier is a former porn actor. That is the caliber of character that you are dealing with, and that these poor people are buying edible products from… Gross!
