Hello!
Just a note to let you all know that Carb-o-licious products are now online, aside from Amazon. We are also available to a lot more brick-and-mortar outlets in the New York, New Jersey area.
We sell most of our products online on our own site and Facebook (except those that require freezing - but that's coming online too, soon!).

If you are, for some reason, unable to tolerate erythritol/sucralose then by all means do not eat them and you would probably not care for many of my dessert recipes either because I use both. Sweetness is a very personal thing and I find Stevia extremely bitter and distasteful. I tried 3 or 4 brands and found all of them not right for me. It is always each to his own.

I am very carb sensitive and when I tested these muffins my blood sugar did not rise more than 12 points so for me they are a thumbs up.

Yikes! My body would not be able to handle that much sugar alcohol! I had some "no sugar added" ice cream at Baskin and Robbins and it had 16g of sugar alcohols, my stomach was a mess and because I'm breast feeding my baby's stomach was too! :(

Thanks Melissa,

I totally agree with your math getting to the 8g net carbs.

The reason I got these is that I thought they might have many more carbs than stated and when I glucose tested them on myself they had as minimal an impact on my blood sugar as anything I have ever tested. If you scroll down to the fifth graph here https://low-carb-scams.com/resources/all-my-personal-test-results-in-graph-form/ you can see what happened.

Unfortunately because the FDA has no guidelines on anything, any company can literally say what they want and I will say this, the people who know how to actually calculate “Net Carbs” are few and far between. Most subtract all the sugar alcohols and call it good to go.

I am extremely carb sensitive and since I do not take any medication I would tell you that 8g carbs should have boosted my blood sugar far higher than these muffins did. It only increased 3 points and in my book that is a very good. There are still a lot of really bad “low carb” products out there and in my opinion this is not one of them. I still have 2 of them in my freezer and as I have had several more of them in the last 6 months I have had the same response each time.

One other good thing-they are gluten free.

My only comment is to be wary of what advertisers say are their NET carbs. Carb-o-Licious muffins inaccurately report 3Net Carbs per muffin.

Using the formula:

1. Total carbohydrates per serving

2. - minus number of grams of fiber (soluble and insoluble) per serving

3. - minus 1/2 the number of grams of sugar alcohols if 5 or more from total carbohydrates

4. = equals net carbs

Their chocolate muffins have 8 Net carbs per muffin.
